What is PMC?

PMC stands for precious metal clay. It is an amazing new material that has been developed in Japan. It contains tiny silver particles, a non-toxic binder and water. In this form it resembles and can be worked with just like clay.

The exciting part is that once you are happy with your design you can let the clay dry out then it can be fired either in a kiln or even under a hand held torch. All the organic binder burns off and the silver particles fuse together. It turns into pure silver!

There is a small amount of shrinkage but other than that the design detail remains the same.
